| 18 May 2007 NEWCAL Industries Sustainability Commitment Machine and Toner Cartridge Re-Cycling Program A NEWCAL Industries Sustainability Program was established in June of 2005. NEWCAL Industries realized that it was a priority to minimize the amount of waste that is deposited into area landfills. Office equipment, and photoreceptor drums and toner cartridges, consume valuable space in landfills and unnecessarily contaminate the environment. NEWCAL offers an equipment asset recovery or end-of-life management program. In addition, we offer trade-in programs that provide a rebate on new equipment for returning your used equipment. Our leasing program offers customers who don’t want the responsibility of dealing with end-of-life equipment, the option of allowing them to return old equipment to the lessor for upgrades or credits toward future purchases. Assets recovered from customer sites are stored in Pleasant Hill, California and sorted according “best use.” Late model equipment is typically reconditioned and redeployed, many times to non-profit accounts, looking for a value proposition. Older, and off-brand equipment, along with accessories, drums and cartridges, are sorted for export. NEWCAL contracts to provide monthly shipments of machines and accessories. These machines are shipped overseas, and many are chosen for redeployment. Machines not redeployed are completely recycled to cultivate copper, steel, aluminum and plastic. NEWCAL’s program to date has been a tremendous success. As of May 2007, NEWCAL has tracked an estimated 8 tons per month of recyclable product. As NEWCAL continues its growth, the amount of material it collects will continue as well. Our commitment to our environment has never been stronger. |
